The income of the gambling industry is 10 times 15 times less than the numbers voiced by our opponents, - said Zurab Beruashvili, head of the Gambling Business Association.
He said that a number of incorrect information has been spread about the gambling business revenues recently.
According to Zurab Beruashvili, Chairman of the Association, due to the fact that the Georgian gambling business industry has developed technologically, statistics are produced using outdated methodologies, which prevents the dissemination of accurate information about the business. This is the reason why the gambling business association signed a memorandum with the National Statistics Office of Georgia. The parties say that this will help to create the right opinion about the gambling business revenues and the amounts paid to the budget in the society.
"Over the past few years, the Georgian gambling business industry has developed so technologically that the methodology for producing statistical figures can no longer meet the requirements. This is a discovery achieved as a result of the cooperation between Geostat and us, therefore, the memorandum envisages the development of a new methodology in the future, based on which the production of relevant statistics on business in the future will be made available to the public.
Because there is such a problem today, there are often cases of incorrect appeal of numbers by opponents. They talk about billions, which is drastically different from reality. The revenue of the industry is 10 to 15 times less than the numbers voiced by our opponents. Therefore, when the numbers developed on the basis of this methodology become known to the public and it will be in the near future, the appeal with such numbers will be heard, ”said Zurab Beruashvili.
