Digital media has changed the agenda and dynamics of information dissemination. Inaccurate facts and data about the gambling business are often spread on social media, which creates a basis for ambiguity and speculation. Improperly processed and extracted statistics are often manipulated against the gambling business. The evaluation of the activity of enterprises engaged in gambling activities started with a new methodology, which had a significant impact on the turnover of enterprises in the relevant sector.
From 2018, the volume of turnover is determined by the sum of bets placed each time. False statistics arise against the gambling business and numbers are manipulated. The aim of the conference was for media representatives to have comprehensive and accurate information on the new counting methodology as well as the sharp differences between turnover volume and revenue. As a result of the conference, the representatives of the media will be able to more effectively find, process and publish the statistical data of the enterprises engaged in the gambling business. This will eliminate the spread of unverified and inaccurate facts in the future.
