Memorandum of Understanding has been signed between Georgian Gambling Association and National Statistics Office of Georgia. The bilateral document was signed by Zurab Beruashvili, Chairman of Gambling Association and Gogita Todradze, Executive Director of the National Statistics Office of Georgia.
According to the head of Gambling Association, Zurab Beruashvili, within the framework of the memorandum, their organization will help Geostat obtain important and qualitative information from its member companies, which will help to create a correct opinion about the gambling business income and budget.
“In the last few years, the gaming business has developed in a technological way in the country that the methodology of producing statistics is no longer in line with the current requirements, leading to misapplication and manipulation by business opponents. They are talking about billions, which is almost ten times the actual revenue of a business”, – Beruashvili said, adding that Georgia’s gaming business industry was, is and will always be transparent.
“Geostat and Gambling Association will develop a new, improved methodology for statistical numbers, and the numbers generated will always be available to the public, which will eventually put an end to mismanagement”, – Beruashvili said.
According to Gogita Todradze, CEO of Geostat, such cooperation is really important, as it will facilitate timely provision of necessary statistical information to stakeholders.
At the event, the Executive Director of Geostat Gogita Todradze presented the main directions of official statistics production to the invited guests.
