The announcement marks the end of a nearly nine-year stint in the role for Kaplan, who first joined Evolution in 2016 after several finance and consulting positions.
Andersson will join the business at a challenging time for the live casino giant in the wake of an evolving regulatory environment and continued sluggish growth for its RNG division.
Chief Executive Martin Carlesund said: “I want to thank Jacob for his work and contribution to the development of Evolution into the group we are today.
“He has been an integral part of our management team and played a key role in our expansion and mission to improve the company each day. We wish him all the best in the future.
“At the same time, I am very much looking forward to working with Joakim. He has a strong background as an accomplished CFO and will strengthen our team and help the company take the next steps in its development.”
Evolution’s incoming CFO has served in a variety of financial positions throughout his career, most recently as chief financial officer of mid-sized private equity firm Slättö.
Prior to that, Andersson had a two-year stint as CFO of digital insights platform Cint, where he helped lead the company to its 2021 IPO and through two M&A deals.
Andersson also spent 14 years at Swedish investment firm Kinnevik AB where he joined as group treasurer in 2007.
After a promotion to CFO in 2015, the Växjö University graduate also worked as acting chief executive officer of Kinnevik AB for 13 months during a period of especially high activity for the business.
Evolution generated €475.3m revenue and €337m in EBITDA in Q4 2023, amounting to year-on-year growth of 16.6% and 70.9% respectively.
