The gaming business filed a lawsuit. The case concerns the tax accounting method proposed by the Revenue Service, which the gambling business does not agree with. In addition, according to the gaming business association, before the middle of April, several more lawsuits of the industry will be filed in the Constitutional Court, with which the private sector demands to be declared unconstitutional, including the restriction of the participation of persons under 25 in gambling games, as well as the decision to increase taxes.
"The lawsuit was filed on behalf of the companies. There is a bonus system that every company has. This is the so-called freespins system, a free incentive. The IRS wants us to tax it, which we think is wrong. Accordingly, we reacted to this.
We are also now completing consultations with constitutionalists, and our lawsuits will definitely be filed before mid-April, and I have high hopes that the Constitutional Court will respond as we should to an illegal and unconstitutional action. This applies both to banning games under the age of 25 and increasing taxes for the gaming business," George Mamulaishvili said.
As a reminder, amendments to the Law "On the Organization of Lotteries, Gambling and Profitable Games" entered into force on March 1, according to which citizens under the age of 25, socially vulnerable persons receiving state benefits, civil servants, and persons applying to the Revenue Service of the Ministry of Finance for self-limitation were prohibited from participating in gambling. with the request to use the mechanism and also those who fall into the so-called On the "black list" based on a court decision or at the request of family members.
Before that, from January 1 of this year, the tax pressure on gaming business increased to 70%.
